If you or a family member in Chennai has been struggling to follow conversations, asking people to repeat themselves, or turning the TV volume up higher than everyone else is comfortable with, a proper hearing test is the place to start. Insono Hearing’s Kodungaiyur clinic brings certified audiologists, a free hearing test, and India’s leading hearing aid brands to South Chennai — here’s everything you need to know before you visit.

What Happens During a Free Hearing Test at Insono Chennai?
The hearing test itself is free and takes about 30–45 minutes. Most people who visit are either noticing early signs of hearing loss themselves, or bringing in a parent or grandparent who has been showing symptoms.
Which Hearing Aid Brands Are Available at the Chennai Clinic?
Insono’s Kodungaiyur clinic stocks all six major brands sold across our network: Signia, Phonak, Widex, Oticon, Starkey, and ReSound. Whether you’re looking for a discreet invisible model, a rechargeable device for daily convenience, or something with Bluetooth streaming for calls and TV, the audiologist will help match a model to your specific hearing loss and lifestyle rather than pushing a single brand.
What Does a Hearing Aid Cost at the Chennai Clinic?
Pricing depends on the brand, technology level, and style you choose — our detailed breakdown of what affects hearing aid cost covers this in depth. As a general range, devices typically start from around ₹15,000 for basic models and go up to ₹5,00,000+ for premium AI-powered options. The Chennai clinic also offers 0% EMI, so cost doesn’t have to be a barrier to getting your hearing tested and treated.
Can I Try a Hearing Aid Before Buying It?
Yes — Insono offers a 3-day home trial at all clinics, including Chennai. This means you can wear a recommended hearing aid in your own daily environment — at home, at work, in traffic, during conversations with family — before committing to a purchase. Many people find this more useful than judging a device inside a quiet clinic room.
What If My Hearing Aid Needs Repair or Adjustment Later?
The Kodungaiyur clinic provides lifetime aftercare, including fine-tuning, cleaning, and warranty support (up to 4 years depending on the model). If you already own a hearing aid from another provider and it needs servicing, the clinic’s audiologists can also assess it, though warranty terms will depend on where it was originally purchased.
Is This the Only Insono Clinic in Tamil Nadu?
As of now, Kodungaiyur is Insono’s Tamil Nadu location, opened as part of the company’s push into South India. If you’re travelling from elsewhere in Chennai or nearby Tamil Nadu, it’s worth calling ahead to confirm appointment availability. You can see the full, up-to-date list of Insono clinics — including newer additions — on our clinic locator page.
How Insono Hearing Can Help
If it’s your first time exploring hearing aids, our step-by-step guide to choosing the right hearing aid is a good starting point before your visit. And if hearing loss has been affecting more than conversations, our piece on the link between untreated hearing loss and cognitive health explains why getting tested sooner rather than later matters.
